Articles > AMD XP 1800+ review

Today we will review Athlon Xp 1800+, first lets take a look at our setup:

Motherboard: Asus a7n8x deluxe with 1002 Final bios Memmory: 256mb x 2 XMS at 6.3.3.2 timings Video card: Radeon 9000 pro 128mb.

Time for benchmarks, we will start off with SiSoft sandra:

Its fast enought, we took a little time to oveclock this chip and test its stability, the best we could do is 1777mhz at default voltage 100% stable at 1870mhz it would crash on 3dmark tests we ran to check stability.

Keep in mind the chip is retail so its not great overclocker. Amd Xp 1800+ @ 1777mhz CpuZ:

Well you see it for your self folks, this great chip got better results in sandra's cpu arithmetic benchmark then Athlon Xp 2000+ when overclocked and as you can see it also got better results in multi-media benchmark (floating point). Thats not all, here results from Performance Tester, we compared Amd Xp 1800+ at stock speeds to overclocked chip at 1777mhz:
